Explore Upper Georgia Avenue

Finding Inspiration in Every Turn

For centuries, Georgia Avenue has been an important commercial corridor of Washington D.C. surrounded by historic residential communities. Much of the area's early growth  was attached to the world-class Walter Reed Army Medical Center; open for more than 100 years until closing in 2011, it served tens of thousands of local citizens and wounded veterans. Our version of “Upper Georgia Avenue” encompasses the stretch of Georgia Avenue from Missouri Avenue NW to Eastern Avenue NW and is home to almost 200 businesses, not to mention the newly-emerging The Parks at Historic Walter Reed, a 3.1 million square foot mixed-use development at the site of the former hospital.
