Braids and Fades Salon Week

The Upper Georgia Avenue Main Street organized the Back to School Braids N Fades Salon Week where Ward 4 students 18 and under, returning to school this fall could receive a salon style or fade hair cut fully subsidized by the main street. The promotion was active at six participating locations and extended from August 14-23 in preparation for the first day of school on August 24.

Each salon saw anywhere from 4-10 children and the cost of each head was determined by each shop’s regular pricing, tip, and any additional wash services. The program was designed as a proof of concept to assess local need and capacity among salons and barbers.
